Yelpissippi BBQ! This place was a great find thanks to YELP. The location is convenient when traveling on I-59. Great building and atmosphere. The menu is great but the buffet was off the chart. Chicken fried Porkchops best ever! hamburger steak, mashed taters with gravy, fried okra, country style green beans and much more. Everything was incredibly delicious. Others in the party had the pulled pork sandwiches and raves about the flavor. This place is a must if passing through Laurel, Ms. you can sit outdoors under the tree and even swing if you want to. We will be back!

I'm giving 3 stars because here lately it's hit or miss with them. Today I got a brisket sandwich plate with 2 sides cost 11.99 before tax. Now mind you I have gotten this before which is why I wanted it. Except today this sandwich has 4 little flimsy pieces of brisket on it when before it was way more. Not to mention I asked for extra BBQ sauce and got none. I love the food and the flavor but when you pay that much money it should be worth it. Like I said it normally is, don't know what's happening lately.

Not much to tell about - if you want big portions, this could be your place. The buffet has good looking food, but I'm actively avoiding buffets (the temptation to eat too much is more than I can stand).

The chicken has good seasoning, but is overcooked and dry. Real dry. Turnip greens were good and the coleslaw was real good (heavy mayonnaise based dressing).

    Outstanding friendly service.

I know it's a BBQ place, but in my opinion the BBQ sandwich was...meh. Not the worst I've ever had. Not the best I've ever had. As crazy as this may sound, I'm telling you to skip the BBQ sandwich.

Why in the world would you stop at a BBQ restaurant and skip the BBQ? I got three words for you. Don't forget them. Here ya go...shrimp po boy. That's all you gotta know going in. One of the best ever. I mean wow. Easily the best choice that was made during our stop.

Coming in at number two is the cheeseburger. That one is nothing to scoff at. It's a definite contender. But it ain't the shrimp po boy. Still better than the BBQ sandwich, though.

The sides are pretty good. The broccoli and rice casserole was pretty tasty. I liked the fried okra as well. Pass on the French fries. Not that great.

Now I'll be honest with you. I'd give the place five stars for the shrimp po boy. Easy. But these guys broke a longstanding rule in the restaurant business. They charged all of us fifty cents for a water. You might ask, "Was it Perrier?" No. Actually it wasn't. It was out of the tap.

You don't do that, you all. We all bought a dinner. Water, with purchase of a meal, is on the house everywhere else on the planet. Left a bad taste in my mouth, to be honest.

But, I'd go back for that po boy. I'd order out. Ain't no way I'd pay fifty cents for tap water again. I might even get an ice cold Coke Cola somewhere else to wash that bad boy down. But I'm not buying another beverage here.

This was the most amazing BBQ I have ever had. The staff is welcoming, the restaurant was immaculately clean, the vibe is fun casual. The brisket is second to none. The pulled pork was amazing. The macaroni and cheese, the corn nuggets, baked beans, broccoli and rice are amazing flavorful sides!! Very homestyle but chef worthy at the same time. And the peach cobbler... I have never had a cobbler as good as this cobbler. The cobbler alone is worth driving however far to try it. The staff was amazing and gave attention like you would want from a high end establishment. Don't miss out Hog Heaven Bar*BQ!! I wish I could take everyone here at least once.

Update: my favorite side was the corn nuggets-- super yum!
